CTCSS also known as SUBaudio

What is CTCSS ?
This abbreviation stands for "Continues Tone Controlled Squelch System".

Why do we use this ?
To prevent unwanted transmission of the repeater (for example by stations that use another repeater).

When have we started this?
On 1 januari 2010 has the input of the repeater also been activated by CTCSS.

How does it work?
To open the relaisstation, the user continuously has to transmit the 88.5Hz tone, together with the speech. The tone is made by a special oscillator (the tone ENcoder).
